About Me

My name is Kahlil Andrews, creator of the Studying With KJ mathematics tutoring service. After graduating from high school I was an average mathematics student at best. Today I have a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Fisk University and a Masters of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Tennessee State University. This journey was undeniably challenging, with both degrees requiring a strong understanding of mathematics. Fortunately, I had excellent teachers who believed in me, helping my aspiration of being a Civil Engineer become a reality. Studying With KJ was created to provide the same educational support for underprivileged youth, focusing on tutoring students grades 3-12 in mathematics (basic math, geometry, algebra 1-2, and pre-calculus). These specific grade levels were chosen because I am fully aware of the glaring need for diversity in S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) related professions. My mission is to assist underprivileged youth in gaining early confidence in mathematics, as a strong foundation in mathematics is necessary to be successful in S.T.E.A.M. related professions. Studying With KJ will play its part by providing a challenging curriculum and comprehensive tutoring. The curriculums will not only assist students with completely understanding their current level of mathematics but also provide a head start and prepare them for their next.
